According to report reaching oyogist.com, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has reportedly issued a stern warning to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to desist from going on another strike else the Nigerian students would engage in a mass protest.

This was made known by the national NANS President, Sunday Asefon, during an interview with The PUNCH on Thursday.

Asefon noted that it was a shameful act for ASUU to embark on another nation with protest after wasting a whole academic year of Nigerian students.

“It is a slap on us for ASUU to say they are calling off the strike conditionally. If they call it off conditionally, we will also put on hold our plan to engage the Federal Government and ASUU on mass action. But if they also resume their strike, we will also go to the streets, if that is the only language they understand, we will speak it to them.”

It should be noted that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), called off its 9 months old strike on the 23rd of December, 2020, after series of consultation with the federal government.

ASUU is another corrupt body, bent on getting their own share of the National vake, under the guise that they’re fighting for the future of Nigerian students. It’s all fake!
Only people who don’t care would waste an entire academic year, fighting for something that could have done a different way, without letting it affect the students.
I lost trust in ASUU.

This idea is supported. How can they be playing politics with the future of the youth. If ASSU tries to embark on a strike again, the students should hit the streets. Instead of spending three years, people now spend up to six years all in the name of strike and the government on their own should respect themselves.
