The bill supporters have also aired their opinion stating that the bill has a slim chance of approval by the Republican Controlled and dominated Senate who would see it as a rejection of the country war on drugs.

According to reports, 36 states including the District of Columbia (DC) has legalised the use of cannabis while 15 states and DC have legalised the use of cannabis for adult recreation.

According to analysts and drug experts, the marijuana bill could influence the President Elect, Joe Biden policies on drugs following the assumption of office in January.
