The spate of violent crimes in the Heartbeat Of The Nation (Edo State), continued on Tuesday, November 10, when some unidentified gunmen attacked a police station in Igueben, oyogist.com reports.

The deadly attack on the Igueben Division of the Nigerian Police Force was monitored on local television and radio stations in the state.

According to reports, the yet to be identified gunmen killed two policemen and one civilian during the attack, while several persons sustained injuries of varying degrees.

It was also reported that arms were removed from the police station by the gunmen.

Reports of the incident were sketchy, and it is expected that details of the attack, as well as an official statement from the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, Mr. Johnson Babatunde kokumo, will be available later today.

It will be recalled that Edo State was one of several Nigerian states where the Nigerian Police Force lost several men and officers, police station buildings, patrol vehicles and equipment in the carnage that followed #EndSARS protests nationwide.

This latest attack on a police facility in Edo State will further hamper police operations in the state, considering the apparent low morale of officers and men of the Force following the #EndSARS protests.
