Pope Francis Appoints Wilton Gregory as first Ever Black American cardinal

According to reports reaching Oyogist.com, Pope Francis has approved of Archbishop Wilton Gregory induction into the Roman Catholic Cardinal.

Archbishop Gregory would be the first Black American to join the Cardinal Position in the Roman Catholic Church till date. Gregory is currently self-quarantining in Rome as he waits for the induction.

Archbishop Gregory told news reporters earlier on that he was very surprised concerning the promotion. He is well known for the role he played in diversifying the church, including members of the LGBTQ community, one of his keystone missions.

While reacting To Joe Biden’s Victory at the US Presidential Election, Gregory, said he would work with President-elect Joe Biden’s to ensure the smooth running of affairs in the country.

“I want to begin whatever conversations with Biden in a positive vein, rather than in an adversarial mode,” Archbishop Gregory said.
