OYOGist.com has learned that the Nigerian Customs Service Zone B Strike Force have reportedly intercepted 2 two smugglers in possession of substandard goods worth N24.3 million Duty Paid Value, DPV.

This was made known by the Deputy Comptroller General, Olorukoba Ussaini Aliyu during the public display of the seized goods in Kano.

The Comptroller has now warned the smugglers around the country to desist from their evil acts and embrace a legal job stating that there’s no room and hiding space for smugglers in Nigeria.

According to Aliyu, “No way for them. Wherever they go, they have us to contend with. We have a message for them (smugglers) that they get a genuine legitimate trade or relocate. We will not stop at picking their wares, we will chase and trace them to ensure they are tried in the court and ensure they are jailed.”

According to reports gathered by oyogist, the seized items include bales of second hand clothes, foreign rice, vegetable oils, spaghetti and fake and banned drugs.
