OYOGist.com has learned that the Federal High Court seated in Abuja have reportedly ordered the remand of the Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Sen. Ali Ndume in the Kuje Correctional center.
This judgment came shortly after Senator Ali Ndume was unable to produce the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina whom he stood as a surety for.
According to reports Mr. Maina is currently answering to a 12-count money laundering charge which was slammed against him and a company known as the Common Input Properties & Investment Limited by the EFCC. The Financial Crime fighting Commission also stated that Mr. Maina looted public funds to the tune of over N2billion naira.
Mr. Maina had refused to appear before the court since September 29 for the continued hearing of his case after he was granted bail in like sum surety.
Senator Ali Ndume has now been reportedly moved to the Kuje Correctional Facility in Abuja following the Court pronouncement.
