According to report reaching oyogist.com, the the Zamfara state governor, Bello Mattawale has reportedly secured the release of 11 kidnap victims from bandits in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the the state Press Secretary to Gov. Mattawale, Mr. Jamilu Iliyasu while addressing the newsmen.
Mr. Illiyasu stated that the unconditional release of the 11 kidnap victims by the state government was made possible through the “carrot and stick” approach.
He stated that the Governor has appealed to the unrepentant bandits in the state to surrender their weapons before they get caught up in their own nets.
In addition to the statement the state Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Dauran also stated that some of the bandits have began repenting from their evil practice and have accepted the reconciliation accord which was introduced by the governor.
