“I’ll Get Married Soon” – Hon. Fakorede, Youngest Commissioner In Nigeria Says

The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Seun Fakorede has revealed that he will soon follow the foot step of his predecessors by joining the league of married men while still in office, oyogist.com reports.

Speaking on the news magazine programme Parrot Xtra Hour on Radio anchored by Olayinka Agboola on Oluyole 98.5 FM Ibadan, Oyo State capital on Tuesday, the 28 year old commissioner said his status will soon change from single to married to be in the same pedestrian with the two former Oyo State Youth and Sport commissioners who got married on the job.

It would be recalled the Hon. Dapo Lam Adesina and Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao both got married while serving as the state commissioner for Youth and Sports.

Speaking on what Governor Seyi Makinde has in stock for the youth in the state, Hon. Fakorede said the Governor is working tirelessly to revamp all the sectors that will improve the Pacesetter state and develop its youth.

On the issue of sports development embarked on by the state government, Hon. Fakorede explained that although the Governor has committed N5.5 billion to the remodeling of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba to meet international standard so that the people in the state can watch first class football, but all other stadiums in the state will get the same treament.

“We are actually rehabilitating, we can’t possibly have everything at once. We have decided to put them in phases. People in the state should be patience with the government because what is happening in Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba will happen to all the stadiums in the state. We have decided to put them in phases and fortunately, Ososami youth center is part of the project to enjoy the first phase of renovation,” he added.

He also assured that concerted effort is being put in place by the various ministries to see that youths and children roaming the street are catered for, while emphasizing that a lot of work is still to be done to arrest the ugly situation of children roaming the streets.

He however charge Oyo youths not to be intimidated by any obstacle that might confront them as it is a stepping stone to greatness. He charged all youths with business innovations and ideas to start small and end big

“Don’t be afraid to start small, step into the field and do what is expected of you,” he said.

The Commissioner also used the opportunity to assure sport loving fans that the Shooting stars football club and the Crown Football Club of Ogbomosho are coming back stronger and that he’s sure of the clubs securing promotion back to the elite stage in the Nigeria football league.
