According to report reaching oyogist.com, Arsenal is still interested in making a move for Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng and could see a deal be done for him in the summer transfer window when he would be a free agent.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the German defender in the last few years but have always come short in reaching an agreement with his club over a potential move.

In the summer transfer window, Arsenal were one of the front runners for the experienced Bayern Munich defender but decided to snap up a younger target in Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

In the last transfer window, they were tipped to land him yet again, but the Gunners decided to sign Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.

According to the report Arsenal are still interested in signing the legendary German defender despite having the impressive Gabriel Magalhaes in their squad.

Boateng has entered the final year of his current deal at the German side and will not sign a new deal with the German and world champions.

The German defender seems to have lost his place in the team during the reing of former Bayern Munich coach Nico Kovac, but has been a very important player for Bayern under the stewardship of current manager Hansi Flick.

He was key player for Bayern as they went on to lift the champions league without losing a single game. Signing him would be a big statement by Arsenal who are trying to build a team that has strong winning mentality and hunger for trophies.
