Super Eagles of Nigeria star Victor Osimhen was in action for Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli Football club of Italy on Sunday afternoon, as they came from a goal down to defeat Filippo Inzaghi’s Benevento 2-1 at Stadio Ciro Vigorito Stadium, oyogist.com reports.
The former Lille FC of France star was handed a starting role by Gennaro Gattuso, and he was in action for 90th minutes of the game.
The host opened scoring through Roberto Insigne in the 30th minute, after receiving a fine assist from Gianluca Lapadula, to end the first half 1-0.
Lorenzo Insigne equalized for the away team in the 60th minutes with a fine goal from outside the box, thanks to an assist from Matteo Politano.
Substitute Andrea Petagna scored the winner for Napoli in the 67th minutes, after receiving an assist from Matteo Politano, to end the match 2-1 in favour of Gennaro Gattuso’s men.
Victor Osimhen was outstanding for Napoli in the second half, despite having few touches in the first half, but he was not fortunate to find the back of the net in the game.
The 2-1 victory has now taken Napoli FC to the second spot in the Italian serie A table, with 11 points from 5 matches played.
