Pastor Tunde Bakare Talks About Police Reform, Proposes New Minimum Requirements For Police Recruits

The church of God hasn’t been left out of the fight against Sars brutality and pastors like Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Pastor Enenche, Pastor Adeboye, Pastor Tunde Bakare have all voiced their thoughts and opinions about the brutality of the police force, oyogist.com reports.

Pastor Tunde Bakare is out today to make suggestions as to how the police reform should be undergone and he has proposed the minimum requirements that ought to used in the recruitment process of the police force.

He said, “I recommend that a minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) obtained from a recognised polytechnic, or two years in a recognised university”. He said that these should be the minimum requirements to join the Police force as a recruit.

He proposed that the Police Academy should be upgraded to a degree awarding institution with affiliation to a Nigerian University and also convert the Police force into Police Service.

He also added that a cumulative grade point average not lower than a second-class lower division should be among the requirements to secure admission into the Nigeria Police Academy.

The government is said to have started the reform process and the President had already given an order for the service commission to speed up with the reform processes.

Pastor Tunde Bakare in more details proposed certain structures that needed to be put in place to make the police reformto become successful. He also talked about the ethics and duties that is required of the Police service for them to effectively discharge their duties.
