The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis has called for the legalization of same-sex civil unions in a new documentary, OYOGist.com has gathered.
This is a first time a Pope is going to be publicly showing support to the LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 community, giving the Catholic Church’s long-standing position on gay and lesbianism.
The call was made in a documentary that appeared in Italy according to reports. While the Pope didn’t outrightly support same-sex marriage, comments he made in the documentary said “civil unions” which gives same-sex couples a legal status similar to a marriage in some jurisdictions, legal protection.
The documentary was released on Wednesday 21st of October in Italy.
