“I am heartbroken to see the senseless brutality in Nigeria,” Beyonce reacts to #LekkiMassacre

American singer and song-writer, Beyonce Knowles-Carter, popularly known as Beyonce, has reacted to the unfortunate bloodbath on unarmed protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday night.

“I am heartbroken to see the senseless brutality taking place in Nigeria. There has to be an end to SARS,” Read an image shared on Instagram by the singer.

“We have been working on partnerships with youth organizations to support those protesting for change. We are collaborating with coalitions to provide emergency healthcare, food and shelter.. To our Nigerian sisters and brothers, we stand with you.” Beyonce’s message read.

The #EndSARS protesters have continued a nationwide demonstrations demanding for the abolishment of the notorious Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and demanded other reforms from the government.

The protests have continued peacefully for more than 10 days until the government started sponsoring thugs and hoodlums to destroy properties and pin these disasters on the #EndSARS protesters.

Yesterday’s protests took a dramatic turn for the worse, after the erstwhile understanding Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu abruptly announced a curfew in Lagos and gave people only 4-hrs to vacate the streets.

Shortly after some unidentified men were seen at the Lekki Toll Plaza removing CCTV cameras, which was followed by an ambush of unarmed peaceful protesters by the military.

The military reportedly barricaded the protesters on both sides and opened fire at them even as many held the flag of Nigerian and sang the National Anthem while kneeling on the floor.
