Edo Decides 2020: You took me in as a brother – Obaseki to Governor Wike

OYOGist.com has learned that following the 19th sept, 2020 Edo state governorship election which the candidate of the People Democratic Party Mr. Godwin Obaseki won the election. The re-elected governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki gave thanks to Edo people for trusting him and not falling him.

The Governor also commended the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike who is also a member of the people democratic party (PDP) and also all the PDP governors who supported him during the election period.

Report has it that Mr. Godwin Obaseki gave this commendation today, Wednesday during his appreciation visit to the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Nyesom Wike at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The attendance of the visit includes Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, and also the Edo state deputy governor Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu with his wife alongside with some members of the Edo state PDP campaign group led by Mr. Dan Orbih.


The re-elected Governor said “I want to thank Edo people for their doggedness and determination in ensuring that their votes counted and the will of the people achieved, The victory in the September 19 poll was made possible by God and God used the people as an instrument to actualise my second term ambition”.

He further emphasized that after he was pushed out of his former party, Mr. Wike house was the first place he sought for solace in which he took him in as a brother and also gave him food to eat.

The Governor Added “It was in this house, the Campaign Council met to work out the key strategies that led us to victory. You energized people across the country. You moved to Benin, went through the humiliation and attacks. You supported us and we won, it will be a sin against God if we do not come to say thank you. Even if the victory we are celebrating is from God. He has used people like you to make it happen.”

Mr. Godwin promised that Edo will be better with his re-election as he will concentrate on the development of the people in the state.
