Lingard is claimed to have been surprised by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s decision to leave him out of the Manchester United squad against Crystal Palace last weekend.
The midfielder featured just twice in the Premier League after last season resumed and he has fallen further down the pecking order since Donny van de Beek’s arrival.
He is expected to be part of the squad against Luton Town today, but Lingard is believed to be considering leaving Manchester United.
Lingard is torn about considering a move away from a club where he has spent all his life, but links with Tottenham are tempting.
It has been claimed that the midfielder would be willing to hold talks with Tottenham if his former manager wants him in north London.
The 27-year-old had some of his best times at Manchester United under the Portuguese manager and is open to reuniting with him.
Tottenham have though been claimed to hold no interest in Lingard, despite speculation to the contrary.
Zenit Saint Petersburg are also believed to be monitoring Lingard’s situation at Old Trafford
