According to report reaching OYOGist.com, Babajide Babalade, a former super eagle defender is reportedly dead. The former Super Eagle player died in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State on Friday evening after suffering cardiac arrest.
Babalade died on the way when he was being rushed to University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
The late Super Eagle defender was part of the squad that won bronze at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) at Senegal in 1992.
Babalade started his football career at the Stationery Stores of Lagos in 1990, he later played with 3SC and help the Oluyole Warriors reach the final of the CAF champions league in 1996.
He also played abroad at African Sports in Cote D’Ivoire, also in Korea, Austria, and India. He was later appointed as the Manager of Shooting Stars in 2008.
Babalade is survived by a wife and three children, all based in the United States.
