According to reports reaching OYOGist.com, a former Senator representing Ogun East at the National Assembly, Buruji Kashamu has reportedly died of COVID-19 complications.
Kasamu, who was a member of the 8th Senate, reportedly died at the First Cardiologist Consultants in Lagos on Saturday.
The former Senator was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, who until his death, was involved in a running battle with Ladi Adebutu for the soul of PDP in the state.
It would be recalled that Kashamu was reported to have been moved to First Cardiologist earlier in the week when his condition became critical.
The upscale medical facility has played host to a number of top Nigerians who got infected with the virus, including the late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, late Senator Abiola Ajimobi and late Senator Bayo Osinowo.
COVID-19 is a global pandemic that has infected several millions and killed scores of thousands across the globe. There is presently no vaccine for the virus, leading to a massive disruption of world economy.
