The Honourable Member representing Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Chisom Dike Promise, has debunked the rumour making round the social media that he rejected a car gift from Rivers State Government led by Governor Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike some days ago, oyogist.com reports.
Honorable Chisom Dike Promise made the denial today (Thursday, August 27) in a radio interview with Rivers State based radio station, Nigeria Info FM and the interview was monitored by BelieveSpot.Com.
According to the Federal Lawmaker, the rumour is paddled by his “political enemies who only want to make mockery of me before the public.”
When his host asked him if he got a car gift from the State Government, the Lawmaker said “I was not among those that was given car but I hope my own car will soon arrive.”
He cleared that 13 SUV Prado Jeeps was given to his Colleagues who visited the Governor earlier. Adding that he was not among those who visited because he was not in the State at the time.
He added that he came back the day when the cars were given out but there was no provision for him at that time.
When asked if he have problem with Governor Government, the Oyibo born Politician added that; “I don’t have any problem with the Governor. We are in cordial relationship and I have visited him many time before the pandemic.”
He challenged those who said he rejected the car gift to bring evidence of that he did so.
When asked about Oyibo road, National Assembly Member said he have spoken with Governor Wike about it, adding that project will soon commence on that road.
Recall that Governor Wike recently presented several SUV Jeeps to members of the National Assembly for Rivers state.
