The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has revealed in a letter he wrote to President Mohammadu Buhari, the source of his wealth following the corruption allegations leveled against him and a call for his removal, oyogist.com reports.
In the letter Malami wrote to the president, he noted that he has not stolen from the national treasury since his assumption in office because before he was appointed as a minister, he had lucrative businesses and also have 27 properties which he acquired legally.
He also noted that the president can verify his claims in the asset declaration form he submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), where he listed 27 properties which are registered in his name before becoming a minister.
Malami went further to explain in details about some of his lucrative business ventures he owned since 13th December 2013, which are; Rayhaan Hotels and Rayhaan Food & Drinks. These ventures of mine can be located in Kano State, he noted.
The Attorney General of the Federation has been under investigation after the former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu leveled corruption allegations against him.
