Malami Threatens To Sue Sahara Reporters, Says Its Publications Have Damaged His Reputation Publicly

OYOGist.com has learned that Nigeria Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami has allegedly vowed to slam a lawsuit against a popular Nigerian online news media popularly known as Sahara Reporters.

He promised to sue Sahara Reporters to court for alleged defamation of character. He said the series of publications made against him has damaged his characters, reputation, psychological stress and distress among other things.

He said several articles released by Sahara Reporters through its internet platform and subsequently broadcast in Twitter, Facebook, WhatsApp and other various online platforms whereby people across the world could read and spread it virally with no stop. Malami was specifically referring to Sahara Reporters articles written between the 10th to 12th of July, 2020.

Antorney General Malami also said that all what Sahara Reporters published against him were false, unsupportive without evidence and simply stated that it was Sahara Reporters imagination.

He also disclosed that his friends, associates, and well-wishers both homes and abroad have been visiting and calling him over Sahara Reporters articles written against him.

He said Sahara Reporters has tarnished his image with its publication as against the 1999 Nigerian constitution and as well as the penal and criminal code.

He therefore, gave Sahara Reporters a seven days deadline to withdraw its defamatory publications against him along with publishing an article of apology on its online platform and also on three different Nigerian newspapers.
