Babajide Otitoju while speaking on the weekly edition of Journalist Hangout on TVC news, he reacted to the setback suffered by the Ondo Assembly to impeach the incumbent deputy governor Mr Agboola Ajayi, oyogist.com reports.
According to Babajide he said “ I salute the courage of the Chief judge of Ondo state Justice Akeredolu, for turning down the request of the state house of Assembly to set up investigative panel, to recommend the impeachment of the deputy governor.
“Many deputy governors have been impeached in the past, and they were later restored back the court of law. See the impeachment of Kogi state deputy governor which suffered a setback, because the assembly does not have the number to initiate the processs. Also, in Imo state, former governor Rochas okorocha tried to also impeach his deputy governor, but the chief judge said the assembly does not have the number.”
“Same thing is happening in Ondo state, Agboola Ajayi cannot just be impeached because they don’t have the two third number required, and that is why the judge refused to set up the panel, because at the end of day the court of law will definitely rule in favour of the deputy governor and he will be restored back, but for the sake of integrity he decided to turn down the letter,” he said.
