OFFICIAL: La Liga club sacks coach over poor results

La Liga side, Real Betis have sacked Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia popularly known as ‘Rubi’ after the team’s 1-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao at San Mames.

Rubi joined Real Betis from Espanyol at the beginning of this season but with only eight wins in La Liga this season and left the Los Verdiblancos in 14th place few places above relegation.

He was replaced with Real Betis’ sporting coordinator Alexis Trujillo who will now take over the job till the end of the season. Real Betis released an official statement on their Twitter page to announce the dismissal of Rubi.

“Real Betis would like to thank Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia ‘Rubi’ and his technical staff for all their services and professionalism,” the club stated.

Real Betis will hoping for positive changes in their next La Liga game.

He had very bad results this season. It’s better they let him than to watch him relegate their club.
