The Overseer of Cidatel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare has said that there is no going back in his ambition to succeed current President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 when he is tenure will come to an end.
Pastor Bakare who made this statement in his interview with Sunnewspaper said that he wishes APC national leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu well in his rumoured Presidential ambition.
According to him, the 2023 election should not be about zoning but the person who is fit for the job. He said this while reacting to the question posed to him on the clamour of the people of Southeast to produce the President in 2023. Pastor Bakare said that for now he has not settled for any political party which he will contest the Presidency come 2023.
The man of God who ran with President Buhari in 2011 under the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC said that Tinubu is entitled to doing everything he has in plans in Nigeria because he has been fighting for democracy in Nigeria.
He stated that Tinubu has not spoken to him about his ambition in 2023, but that he wishes him well. When asked to assess President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, he said that Buhari is doing his honest best.
On the clamour for the reopening of church, he said that he is not in a hurry to do that adding that he will abide by the directives of government. The 2023 Presidency is still three years from now. Politicians are already showing interest in running for the highest political office in Nigeria.
