Super Eagles of Nigeria and Villarreal FC of Spain dazzler, Samuel Chukwueze has revealed how difficult it was for him to decide on which of Nigeria teams to represent last year. The youngster was superb for Villarreal last season, and both Nigeria super eagles and the under 20 team known as the Flying Eagles, were busy calling him to play for them in the tournaments slated for the same year.

The former Golden eaglets star said he was on a dilemma on which one to represent, or he should play for the two teams as far as they were not playing at the same time but Villarreal banned him from taking such step, in order to have a little time to rest after excelling in his full season for the Yellow submarine.

Chukwueze revealed this in a live chat on Instagram that: “I wanted to play both of them, but in the process my club said no Samuel you cannot play two of them, you are going to be exhausted because after that I have to join them in the preseason also.”

The 20 years old continued by saying Villarreal told him to choose one and he can then feel the pressure, because he didn’t know which one to choose.

“My club said I need to make a decision, choose one and the pressure was for me to go to the under 20. That’s where they thought I would go to, but I changed my mind because it was difficult for me to join the under 20, because I was playing in the league already and my club were battling relegation.”

Samuel Chukwueze was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the Bronze medal at the 2019 Africa cup of nations in Egypt, and he scored his first goal for Nigeria super eagles against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, in the quarter final of the tournament. He has since then cemented his spot in Coach Gernot Rohr’s first eleven.
