Four Grave Diggers Caught with Fresh Human Heads in Akure, Ondo State

OYOGist.com has learned that four “Grave Diggers” are now in police net as they were Caught with fresh human heads in Akure, Ondo State. The four suspects are Adewale Abiodun age 40, Oluwadare Idowu age 67, Akinola Sunday age 69 and Olomofe age 45, were caught with head of a newly buried corpse. These four suspects works in a public cemetery which belongs to Akure South Local Government along Imafon road in Akure, Ondo State.

The four suspects had tried to dig out the corpse, the suspects of a young tipper driver who was buried a few hours earlier on May 23, 2020. Luck ran out on these suspects as they were caught red handed by the bereaved family who came back to the cemetery a few hours for the purpose of making arrangement on how to cement the grave.

A member of the family said that they started beating these suspects and, in the process, that they discovered that they were in possession of other human heads. He said that the four suspects were in possession of a female human head and four other fresh severed heads. He said: “We immediately contacted men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) who came to pick them up”.

ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro who is the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command confirmed the incident. ASP Ikoro said that they have started investigating the matter as to know other members of the syndicate because the suspect may not have possibly be working alone. He said the suspects have being doing such evil for a long time, they probably must have been selling it or that they have someone they do supply it to.

He said: “the ongoing investigation will reveal everything, particularly other members of the gang. From what we have found out, it shows that it’s not their first time. It’s something they have been doing, it’s a routine thing. The ASP concluded by saying that “very many days for the thief, one day for the owner. I think this time, their cup is full”.
