Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has ordered the demolition of some hotels in Port Harcourt for violating the COVID-19 no-operation order issued to places of mass gathering, OYOGist.com has learnt.
Among the hotels that were demolished for running while the State Government has placed a ban on their business includes Prodest Hotel in Alode, Eleme Local Government and Edemete Hotel and Bar in Onne.
The demolition was reportedly carried out at 10:30 am in the morning, after the buildings were earlier marked for demolition after violating the declaration of the state to shut their business.
