OYOGist.com has learned that the Blues have extended Olivier Giroud’s Contract till 2021. The French Striker exiting deal with Chelsea is set to expire by the end of June and Antonio Come have already agreed a move for the Striker to join Inter Milan on a free transfer.
However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea have decided to extend the striker’s contract until next summer, meaning that he is no longer available on a free transfer.
Giroud could still leave Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, but the London club would now be due a transfer fee if he was to seek pastures new.
Giroud is currently 33-year-old and has struggled to secure regular action during the current season, making just 13 appearances in all competitions, contributing three goals in the process. He has a total of 21 goals in 76 appearances for the blues.
The France international was due to become a free agent at the end of the season on June 30, but will now be contracted with the Blues until 2021.
