OYOGist.com has learned that the Nigeria Governors forum chaired by the Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi have reportedly asked the President Muhammadu Buhari, to scale down the total lockdown imposed in Fct, Lagos and Ogun State.
This was contained in a letter signed by the Chairman(Kayode Fayemi) addressed to the secretary to the government of the federation, presidential task force force on Covid-19, Boss Mustapha.
The governors are believed to have asked Buhari to allow free movement in all state, but large gatherings should be restricted, it was also noted that the governors want incorporated into President Buhari’s impending pronuncement on the lockdown are Inter-state lockdown, excluding necessities like movement of essential supplies, food movement, medical and pharmaceutical supplies, agricultural products, petroleum supplies, internal free movements but with restrictions on large gatherings and assemblies, and compulsory use of masks, Overnight curfews, and lockdown of flights.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to make a new announcement on Monday ( April 27) when the 14 days lockdown elapses.
The Chairman Nigeria Government Forum, Kayode Fayemi said the association position was as a result of a follow up to a teleconference meeting with the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, On 22nd of April, 2020.
He added “Recall at the meeting it was agreed that the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) articulates the issues that it would want to be included in the next Presidential Pronouncement on COVID-19 so as to have a Uniform and coordinated Policy on COVID-19 at both the national and sub-national levels”.
