Councillor on the run with 30 Bags of rice meant for his Constituency

OYOGist.com has learned that a Councillor in Katcha Local government area of Niger State has been declared wanted for disappearing with the 30 bags of grains meant to be shared as COVID-19 palliative among the people of his constituency.

The S.S.G. who is also the Niger state Taskforce Chairman on COVID-19 disclosed that the run-away Councillor was among the committee that was set up to distribute the grains to his community.

Secretary to the Niger state government, Alhaji Ibrahim Matane confirmed this report.

The Niger state Taskforce on COVID-19 Chairman while describing the act as shameful and fraudulent explained that the grains he took away include: 10 bags each of rice, maize and millet were allocated to the 274 wards across the 25 Local Government Areas of the State by the State government.

However, the security operatives have been ordered to get him arrested for investigation and punish him appropriately in accordance with the law.
