The out of touch price of the luxury condos in the highrise Eko Atlantic City located in the highbrow area of Lagos Island have drawn attention online after one listing was pegged at $2.5 million dollars OYOGist has become aware.

The popular fact-sharing social website Africa Facts Zone, on Monday, April 13 shared a video that showed a condo in Eko Atlantic City listed for $2.4M dollars, and the post quickly went viral and was the list of top trending posts on Twitter for the day.

Soon, Nigerians jumped on the story, with many sharing their opinions on why the listing was out of touch and was, as a matter of comparison, not worth the ask given that an apartment that cost barely half that price in the US where the buyer would enjoy better social amenities would also come with a green card.

This was when house of reps member and Nairabet founder Akin Alabi threw his weight behind the issue and clarified that those that were complaining about the price were not the target market for the offer.

Nigerians didn’t take Akin Alabi’s comments likely and began to drag him on the social media site.
