Tammy Abraham has reportedly turned down a contract offer from Chelsea.
The 22-year-old spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan with Aston Villa in the Championship before returning to Stamford Bridge, where he has established himself as the club’s first-choice striker.
Abraham has struggled with an ankle problem in recent weeks but has scored 15 times in 34 appearances for Frank Lampard’s side during the 2019-20 season.
According to The Mirror, Chelsea recently presented the England international with a contract offer, but the deal was turned down as the centre-forward wants parity with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The 19-year-old is thought to have signed a new long-term deal worth £180,000 a week last year, and Abraham has allegedly made it clear that he wants to be among the club’s highest earners.
