The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has given the members of the State House of Assembly car gifts. The car gifts were presented to the representatives after passing the state’s 2020 budget.
Members of the state lawmakers commended the governor for the gifts they received within 24 hours after passing the state’s 2020 budget bill of N530.81B.
The budget was allegedly passed by the lawmakers without making any changes to it. It was passed on the 17th of December 2019.
The Speaker of the State, Rt. Hon. Ikuniyin Ibani appreciated the Governor for the gifts.
Speaking on the gifts, Ibani said:
“The Governor handed to us the keys of official cars that belong to members of the State Assembly. This is how it should be and we are very grateful to him for providing such leadership and ensuring that members’ walfare are always given priority.
“Members shall continue to give meaningful contribution in their service and their productivity will be higher.”
“On behalf of the Rivers State House of Assembly, we have sent our Christmas wishes before now and it is our wish that God will grant him the enablement to continue to do what is right for the people,” Ibani said.
