Tragic Stabbing in Maiduguri Claims Life of Young Man

In the evening hours of Thursday, February 12, 2026, a fatal stabbing occurred in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State. The victim, identified as Abdulshaheed, a 29-year-old resident of the 777 Housing Estate, was attacked around 9:00 p.m. by a 27-year-old neighbor, Ali Idris Abatcha, who also lives in the same estate.

Security expert Zagazola Makama reported that the assailant inflicted multiple stab wounds to Abdulshaheed’s back during the assault. Following a distress signal from a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), local police officers swiftly arrived at the scene.
