The Federal High Court, Abuja has ordered the release of Sowore. Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu ordered the release of the activist, Omoyele Sowore and Olawale Bakare to be effected within 24hrs.
The judge awarded a sum of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) against the Department of State Services to be paid to Sowore for failing to release him after meeting his bail conditions. This is after two court orders have granted his bail.
The Federal Government had brought another case against Sowore. The judge adjourned the trial of the case till January 6, 2020.
