The government of Katsina State have lifted the suspension placed on Friday Muslim Prayers with immediate effect. This announcement was made by the Katsina State secretary to the state government, Alhaji Mustapha, on Tuesday during a press briefing.
The secretary to the state government said that after a meeting between the state government, traditional rulers, security agency and religious leaders, they have decided to suspend the ban placed on Friday Muslim Prayers which was meant to help curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state.

The SSG also said that despite the fact that they are lifting the ban on prayers, people are expected to adhere to the health guidelines which have been made to avoid infection by Covid-19. Religious leaders are advised to avoid long sermons so that they can finish prayers as quickly as possible.
People have also been advised to practice social distancing so that they can stay safe and avoid getting Infected.
