Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has publicly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu and the Rainbow Coalition, the political movement led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, signaling a major shift in the state’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction and equipping of the Riven Medical Facility, a public-private pharmaceutical project in Rivers State, Fubara said the prolonged political conflict in the state had come to an end.

The governor described the reconciliation process as a victory for peace, emphasizing that Rivers State must move forward with unity and development rather than political divisions. He stated that the leaders present at the event demonstrated their commitment not only to his administration but also to President Tinubu’s leadership.

Fubara’s endorsement of the Rainbow Coalition is viewed as another significant milestone in the reconciliation between him and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, after months of intense political rivalry that disrupted governance in the state.

The declaration also strengthens the coalition’s position as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 elections, with both Tinubu and Wike expected to play central roles in the emerging political alignments across Rivers State.
