Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has officially petitioned the court to legally drop “Pitt” from her last name.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Vivienne is requesting a name change from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, citing “personal reasons” for the decision.
The legal filing follows signs of the young producer distancing herself professionally from her father’s surname. She was previously credited simply as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Playbill for the Broadway musical The Outsiders, which she co-produced alongside her mother.
Vivienne is not the first of the former couple’s six children to take steps to remove the Pitt surname:
Shiloh officially completed a legal name change to remove “Pitt” shortly after turning 18.
Zahara and Maddox have similarly dropped “Pitt” in public and academic settings, opting to go by “Jolie.”
Tensions and Legal Disputes
Insiders close to Brad Pitt have previously alleged that Angelina Jolie has actively influenced the ongoing rift between the actor and his children, viewing Vivienne’s court petition as another step in an ongoing estrangement.
While Pitt and Jolie finalized their protracted divorce in late 2024, the exes remain locked in legal battles over shared business assets, including their French winery, Château Miraval. Vivienne and her twin brother, Knox, are the youngest of the pair’s six children.
