President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed that he will attend the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) scheduled to hold in September at the UN Headquarters in New York, United States.

Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim, disclosed the development, noting that the President will use the global gathering to present Nigeria’s position on key international issues and engage with world leaders on matters of mutual interest.

The annual UN General Assembly brings together heads of state and government from across the world to discuss pressing global challenges, including peace and security, economic development, climate change, international cooperation, and sustainable development.

Tinubu is expected to highlight his administration’s economic reforms, investment opportunities, and Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships. The visit is also expected to provide opportunities for bilateral meetings with other world leaders and international organisations.

The President’s participation in the high-level meeting underscores Nigeria’s continued engagement with the international community and its commitment to advancing diplomatic, economic, and developmental priorities on the global stage.
