At least six people have been killed after suspected bandits launched coordinated attacks on communities in the Danchadi District of Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State, forcing residents of more than 30 villages to flee their homes.

According to reports, the attackers invaded the Kyaluje and Dibarke communities, killing residents and rustling over 1,000 livestock. The sustained attacks have triggered mass displacement, with many villagers seeking refuge in safer neighbouring communities.

Community leaders described the situation as dire, saying fear and insecurity have made it impossible for many residents to remain in their villages. Women, children, and the elderly are among those most affected by the displacement.

Security agencies have reportedly deployed personnel to the affected areas amid concerns that the bandits could strike again. Residents are calling on both the state and federal governments to intensify security operations and provide urgent humanitarian assistance to those displaced by the attacks.
