The Ebonyi State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports claiming it endorsed the governorship ambition of Ifeanyichukwu Odii ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
The party described the reports as false and misleading, insisting that it has not adopted any candidate from the People’s Democratic Party or any other political platform for the upcoming election.
According to the NDC leadership in Ebonyi, the party remains focused on strengthening its structures and preparing to field its own candidates for the 2027 general elections. The chapter urged its members and the public to disregard speculations suggesting an alliance or endorsement arrangement with any governorship aspirant.
The clarification comes amid increasing political activities and consultations ahead of the 2027 elections, with several groups and communities in Ebonyi expressing support for different aspirants, including Odii.
