Thai authorities have arrested more than 20 women suspected of engaging in prostitution during an early morning operation at Pattaya Beach.
According to local reports, the coordinated sweep—codenamed “Before Valentine, Coconut Office”—was carried out as part of efforts to enhance public safety and improve the city’s image as a major tourist destination ahead of the Valentine’s season.
Police officials said most of those apprehended were foreign nationals from Africa. The operation targeted areas along the beachfront that authorities described as hotspots for illegal activities.
Law enforcement officers stated that the crackdown is part of a broader campaign to curb prostitution and related offenses in Pattaya, a city known internationally for its tourism industry.
Authorities have not yet released detailed information regarding charges or potential deportation proceedings. Further investigations are reportedly ongoing.
