Billionaire businessman and Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has unveiled a major financial incentive package for the Super Eagles as they continue their campaign at the AFCON 2025.

Rabiu made the pledge public in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on January 10, 2026, following Nigeria’s victory over Algeria. He praised the players for lifting national morale and outlined detailed rewards tied to their performance in the remaining stages of the tournament.
In his words, Rabiu wrote:
**“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria!
You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals.
To encourage you, I pledge USD $500,000 to the players upon winning the semi-final, with an additional USD $50,000 for every goal scored.
Should you go on to win the final, I further pledge USD $1,000,000, plus USD $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.
Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward.
Keep making Nigeria proud.
Proudly Nigerian.”**
Under the incentive structure, the Super Eagles stand to earn:
$500,000 (about ₦740 million) for winning the semi-final, $50,000 (around ₦73.9 million) for each goal scored in the semi-final, $1 million (approximately ₦1.4 billion) for winning the final, and $100,000 (about ₦147 million) for every goal scored in the final.
The announcement has generated widespread excitement among fans and football stakeholders, who see it as a strong show of confidence and private-sector backing for the national team.
OYOGist notes that Rabiu’s pledge reinforces a growing trend of corporate leaders directly supporting Nigerian sports, as the Super Eagles push toward continental glory and aim to bring the AFCON trophy home.
All eyes will now be on the semi-final clash as Nigeria seeks to convert motivation into silverware.
