A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) CH-4 unmanned combat drone with tail number NAF-114 has reportedly crashed near Kontagora in Niger State, according to emerging field reports and images shared from the scene. The circumstances leading to the crash are yet to be officially confirmed, and there are no immediate reports of casualties on the ground.

The CH-4 drone — a surveillance and strike-capable platform used for counter-terrorism and reconnaissance missions — was believed to be on an operational flight when it went down. Photographs circulating online, credited to Brant Philip, appear to show wreckage consistent with the aircraft model lying in an open field area.

As at the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Air Force has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. Aviation and security analysts say an investigation is likely to be launched to determine whether the crash was caused by technical failure, operational malfunction, or external factors.

The crash comes amid ongoing aerial surveillance and security operations across parts of Niger State and neighbouring regions.
