Wike-led PDP Faction Establishes Interim Leadership in Oyo State
On December 24, 2025, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC), under the leadership of Barrister Nyesom Wike, officially inaugurated a 17-member Caretaker Committee to manage party activities in Oyo State.
Leadership and Mandate of the Caretaker Committee
Professor Abdulrahman Akinoso was appointed as the Chairman of this temporary body, with Dr. Biola Olanipekun designated as the Secretary. The committee’s mandate is to administer the party’s affairs within Oyo State for a maximum duration of 30 days, in accordance with Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP constitution.
