Unusual Praise 2025 Set to Deliver a Deeper, More Powerful Worship Experience

Unusual Praise, widely recognised as Africa’s largest Catholic praise and worship gathering,
is gearing up to offer worshippers an even more immersive and spiritually charged experience in 2025.
The annual event has grown into a landmark moment on Nigeria’s faith calendar, drawing tens of thousands
of attendees each year for an unforgettable night of praise.

All-Night Praise Returns to Tafawa Balewa Square

The 2025 edition of Unusual Praise will take place on December 12 at the iconic
Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos. Organised by the
Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki Phase 1, the all-night worship event
promises upgraded production, refined programming, and a broader mix of gospel music expressions.

Over the years, the gathering has evolved into a major spiritual convergence, with attendance figures
steadily rising as worshippers seek a deeper encounter with God through music, prayer, and liturgy.

Organisers Promise Continuous Growth and Excellence

Founder of Unusual Praise and Parish Priest of the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki Phase 1,
Monsignor Paschal Nwaezeapu, has expressed confidence that the 2025 edition will surpass
previous years in impact and execution.

“We are intentional about growth and excellence. Each year must be better than the last,”
Monsignor Nwaezeapu said. “This year, we have refreshed the programme, expanded the line-up,
and strengthened our preparations to receive everyone who will be part of this encounter.”

As Episcopal Vicar of the Lekki Region in the Lagos Archdiocese, Monsignor Nwaezeapu has consistently
emphasised innovation, structure, and spiritual depth as pillars of the event’s development.

Star-Studded Gospel Line-Up for 2025

The upcoming edition will feature a dynamic mix of celebrated gospel ministers and rising Catholic
worship leaders, creating a rich blend of contemporary and traditional praise sounds.

Confirmed ministers for Unusual Praise 2025 include
Chioma Jesus, Moses Bliss, Sunmisola, Mr. M and Revelation, Chinyere Udoma, Sir Jude Nnam,
Ada Zion, Bidemi, BJ Sax
, alongside several emerging Catholic ministers who will be
making their mark on a grand stage.

A Proven Legacy of Global Gospel Excellence

Theme Anchored in Scripture and Renewal

The theme for 2025, “Bless the Lord, O my soul” drawn from
Psalm 103:1, sets the spiritual direction for the night, calling worshippers
into gratitude, reflection, and heartfelt praise.

Activities begin at 5:00 PM and flow seamlessly through the night,
culminating in the celebration of the Holy Mass, a defining feature
that anchors the event firmly within Catholic worship tradition.

Faith in Action: Evangelisation and Economic Empowerment

Beyond music and worship, Unusual Praise is driven by a broader mission that combines
evangelisation with practical empowerment. The gathering seeks not only
to inspire faith but also to impact lives beyond the altar.

Through its empowerment initiative, Unusual Entrepreneurs, the programme
provides seed capital and expert mentorship to small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
