Release of funds will be contingent upon Rwanda, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, and Nigeria signing contracts that commit to nationwide deployment and ongoing operational expenses.

Currently, Zipline operates regionally within these four countries, but this agreement will enable a nationwide rollout, dramatically increasing access to critical medical supplies. The expansion is projected to serve over 130 million people and triple the number of healthcare facilities supported-from 5,000 to 15,000 clinics and hospitals.

Rwanda Leads the Way with Advanced Drone Technology
Rwanda will spearhead the expansion by inaugurating a third distribution center, doubling its daily delivery capacity, and introducing Zipline’s new short-range precision drones tailored for urban environments. The country will also host a flagship testing facility to trial innovative hardware and software solutions. Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, and Nigeria are slated to follow Rwanda’s lead in the near future.
