Notably, YouTube Kids, Google Classroom, and WhatsApp are exempt, as they do not meet these criteria. Additionally, children can still access most content on platforms like YouTube without an account.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, has announced plans to begin disabling accounts of under-16 users from 4 December. Users mistakenly removed can verify their age via government ID or a video selfie. Other platforms have yet to disclose their compliance strategies.
