Introducing the Nigeria Talent Accelerator Network: A New Era for Workforce Development
Nigeria has unveiled the Nigeria Talent Accelerator Network (NTAN), a transformative program designed to enhance the nation’s workforce capabilities, close productivity gaps, fast-track digital innovation, and equip Nigerian workers for the evolving demands of the global job market.
Strategic Partnership Under the World Economic Forum’s Reskilling Revolution
This groundbreaking initiative is a key component of the World Economic Forum’s Reskilling Revolution in Nigeria. It is jointly led by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment alongside the Federal Ministry of Education, with coordination by the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP). Nigeria’s inclusion in the Global Accelerators Network signals a commitment to fostering multi-sector collaboration aimed at reshaping talent development and empowering local professionals to thrive amid shifting economic landscapes.
Government Leaders Highlight the Network’s Impact
Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, emphasized the significance of the launch, stating:
“This initiative marks a pivotal moment in cultivating a workforce that is globally competitive and capable of driving Nigeria’s next wave of industrial growth and innovation. The Nigeria Talent Accelerator Network bridges policy, industry, and education, creating a unified platform to boost employability, productivity, and inclusive economic progress.”

Echoing this vision, Dr. Maruf Alausa, Honourable Minister of Education, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to aligning educational curricula and vocational training with labor market demands. He highlighted the importance of equipping Nigerian youth with skills that ensure their competitiveness on a global scale.
Collaborative Framework for Workforce Reskilling and Upskilling
The Accelerator will act as a collaborative hub, bringing together government bodies, private sector leaders, academic institutions, and civil society organizations. This coalition will co-develop scalable strategies to reskill and upskill Nigeria’s workforce, ensuring that education and employment policies are synchronized with the needs of a modern, digital economy.
“By fostering this partnership, Nigeria is not only preparing its workforce for future challenges but also shaping the future of work itself. We are crafting a comprehensive Action Plan to close talent gaps and harness the vast potential for talent export,” explained Teju Abisoye, National Coordinator of NATEP.

Focus Areas: Digital Skills, Emerging Industries, and Public-Private Partnerships
NTAN prioritizes the cultivation of digital literacy and transferable skills to support fast-growing sectors such as information technology, business process outsourcing, and sustainable green industries. The initiative also emphasizes mobilizing investments through public-private partnerships to expand reskilling programs, facilitate workforce transitions into high-demand roles, and develop data-driven tools to forecast future skill requirements and guide policy decisions.
Global Endorsement and Nigeria’s Strategic Positioning
Saadia Zahidi, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, praised the launch, stating:
“We are proud to partner with Nigeria in advancing workforce readiness and skills development. This initiative embodies our shared goal of empowering individuals to succeed in a rapidly evolving global economy. By investing in human capital, Nigeria is positioning itself as a vital contributor of talent and innovation on the world stage.”

Nigeria’s active role in this global movement highlights its dedication to enhancing human capital, promoting digital inclusion, and establishing itself as a premier talent hub within Africa and beyond. The Accelerator complements ongoing reforms aimed at economic diversification, innovation enhancement, and inclusive prosperity.
Understanding the World Economic Forum’s Reskilling Revolution
The Reskilling Revolution is a global initiative by the World Economic Forum targeting the upskilling of one billion people by 2030. It unites corporations, governments, and educational institutions worldwide to drive transformative national programs, including Skills and Education Accelerators and the Reskilling Revolution Champions and Commitments.
About the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP)
