ATISBO Local Government Chairman Advocates for Unity Within PDP

Call for Solidarity Among Party Members

Alhaji Bashir Olumuyiwa Alade, the chairman of ATISBO Local Government Area in Oyo State, has emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) within the local government. Speaking at the party’s general assembly held on Tuesday in Ago Are, the administrative center of ATISBO South Local Council Development Area, Alade urged all stakeholders to foster harmony for the collective progress of the community.

Significant Contributions and Support from Party Leaders

The gathering marked the first official meeting following the recent ward and local government congresses, drawing a wide array of party leaders and grassroots members. Demonstrating his commitment, Chairman Alade generously contributed ₦1 million to the party’s coffers. This gesture was matched by Honorable Samuel Adejumobi ‘Agbarapo’, Special Assistant to the Governor on Legislative Matters, and Honorable Ayobami Ojo ‘Joybam’, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, who each donated an additional ₦1 million.

Gratitude Amidst Challenges

Alade took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the party’s elders and key stakeholders for their guidance and support during recent tensions between his office and the ATISBO local government lawmakers. He acknowledged that disagreements are often inevitable when developmental initiatives are underway but stressed that the ultimate goal is to restore peace and ensure progress.

Collaborative Governance for Community Advancement

In a call to action, the chairman encouraged all councillors, supervisory councilors, special assistants, and influential party members to prioritize the welfare of ATISBO residents above personal ambitions. He reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to the local government’s development and the well-being of its people, pledging that his administration would never sacrifice public welfare for individual gain.

Achievements Under Governor Seyi Makinde’s Administration

Chairman Alade also acknowledged Governor Seyi Makinde’s pivotal role in empowering ATISBO Local Government, highlighting numerous accomplishments within just eighteen months. These include enhanced security measures such as the establishment of police posts and the Amotekun security outfit, infrastructure projects like the construction of bridges, culverts, and drainage systems, as well as the installation of solar-powered street lighting. Additionally, the administration has drilled multiple boreholes to improve water access and developed the Kraal Market to stimulate local economic growth.

Investment in Education and Future Leaders

Furthering his commitment to human capital development, Alade revealed that his administration has successfully sponsored over 20 students from ATISBO to pursue higher education at institutions including the School of Nursing and Abiola Ajimobi Technical University. This initiative underscores the administration’s focus on empowering youth and fostering long-term community advancement.

Reaffirming Commitment to Peace and Progress

“It is essential that we unite and collaborate for the advancement of ATISBO Local Government,” Alade stated. “While conflicts may arise during periods of change, our shared objective must be to restore peace swiftly so development can flourish. I assure you that my administration remains steadfast in prioritizing the welfare of our people above all else.”

The meeting was well-attended by prominent figures including Honorable Samuel Adejumobi Agbarapo, Special Assistant to the Governor on Legislative Matters; Alhaji Waheed Oluwakemi, Special Assistant to the Governor on Old Ifedapo Federal Constituency; Honorable Ayobami Ojo, former Oyo State House of Assembly member; Alhaji Ismail Adedeji, former ATISBO LG chairman; Mrs. Nike Christiana Arewa, member of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission; Elder Debo Adejumobi, former chairman of the Oyo State Tourism Board; Barrister Olabode, Deputy Legal Adviser of Oyo PDP; alongside the newly elected ATISBO LG PDP executive and other key stakeholders.
