International streaming platforms: Disney, Paramount and HBO may start acquiring nollywood contents come 2024, Oyogist reports.
According to a Twitter user identifed as Naz Onuzo, presently, there are 3 buyers/commissioners of nollywood content (DStv/Netflix/Amazon) each with budgets seemingly in excess of $10m per annum.
Disney, Paramount and HBO have been rumoured to enter the market in the next 24 months.
Speaking further, Naz highlighted that by 2025, these 6 platforms highlighted above could be spending a whopping $100M a year on Nigerian contents.
This, according to him would definitely lead to more talents coming into the industry.
